How we Became “So Long”

Now it’s 2025, I finally got some inspiration from my very special linesister to conjure up my own hair growth oil recipe and begin the brand “So Long”. Don’t ask me what took me so long to get to this point, but we here OKAY! 

As mentioned before on my thank you cards, “So Long” is a manifestation mantra my grandmother started using ever since I was little. We’d be in the kitchen ALLLL day, hot combs, grease, & SWEAT! I’ve always had a ton of hair on my head, and it didn’t help I was tenderheaded (IYKYK), so of course hair day took hours to finish. It was definitely my least favorite. After my grandma finally finished that last twist or braid, she’d say “Soooo Long” as a compliment and I would say it back to her as a farewell!

As I finished the formula and calculated some things for the hair oil, I couldn’t stop thinking about this spray my grandpa used, it had a bit of a stank to it. But y’all remember the brand “Sta Sof Fro”?? I was reminded of the nostalgic memories it gave me back in the kitchen at my grandparents house on those hot hair days. Our logo is inspired by their logo, brown and silhouette, embodying the strength of our blackness. It was just harmony in my head of the brands name and logo and the passion that I have for taking care of natural hair, I just couldn’t wait to showcase what I produced!
